Best travel itineraries?
Any local tips?
When to visit?
Use ferries or small boats; schedules vary, so plan ahead for smooth travel.
The best thing about Seychelles?
There’s honestly no bad time to visit.
But depending on what you want, some months are definitely better than others.
✨ April, May, October & November = the sweet spot
These are the calmest and sunniest months. The sea looks like glass, it’s less windy, and perfect for:
beach days
snorkeling
island hopping
ridiculously beautiful photos
June to September is cooler and breezier. Great for hiking and escaping extreme heat — but some beaches can get seaweed depending on the wind direction. Also: hold onto your hat.
December to March is hotter, more humid, and tropical. Expect lush green scenery, dramatic sunsets, and the occasional “quick shower” that somehow lasts 45 minutes.
Funny local survival tips:
🌞 Sunscreen is not optional
🥥 One coconut a day makes you feel like you live here
🦎 Tiny lizards will become your roommates
⛴ If the sea is rough, maybe skip the ferry and protect your dignity
For first-time visitors:
👉 May or October = perfection.
Island hopping in Seychelles sounds glamorous… until you realise you’re sweating at the jetty holding three bags, sunscreen in your eyes, and praying you didn’t book the wrong ferry
But don’t worry — here’s how to do it like a pro.
Start with the “big three”:
✨ Mahé – the busy main island
✨ Praslin – beaches so beautiful they look fake
✨ La Digue – where bicycles rule and everyone moves at turtle speed
The Cat Cocos ferry connects Mahé to Praslin and La Digue. Sit outside for the views… unless you get seasick. Then sit INSIDE and question your life choices quietly.
Travel light. Seychelles jetties were not designed for giant suitcases and emotional breakdowns.
On La Digue:
🚲 Rent a bicycle immediately
🚗 Cars are rare
🐢 Giant tortoises have priority over everyone
Bring cash, water, sunscreen, and patience. “Island time” is real. Nobody rushes here — not even the WiFi.
And finally:
Never trust yourself when saying:
“I’ll just do a quick beach stop.”
That’s how you lose an entire day and come back sunburnt holding a coconut.
April to May and October to November offer pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
